Job Description

Insight Global is looking for an Automation Manufacturing Engineer. This Automation Manufacturing Engineer will support the deployment, validation, launch, and optimization of advanced manufacturing systems within an automotive production environment. This role will be responsible for end-to-end system validation, commissioning support, production readiness activities, and structured problem-solving during equipment ramp-up. The ideal candidate possesses strong manufacturing process knowledge, hands-on launch experience, and a proven ability to drive continuous improvement after system installation.

> Lead end-to-end manufacturing system validation activities, ensuring equipment, tooling, automation, and process functionality meet operational and quality requirements prior to production launch.
> Support Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), commissioning, and startup activities for new manufacturing equipment, production lines, and automation systems.
> Verify process readiness through validation of cycle times, throughput, quality standards, ergonomics, material flow, and production requirements.
> Collaborate with controls, automation, maintenance, quality, and operations teams to troubleshoot equipment and process-related issues during launch.
> Execute structured problem-solving methodologies to identify root causes and implement corrective actions during production ramp-up activities.
> Monitor production performance during startup and stabilization phases, ensuring successful achievement of safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives.
> Develop and execute validation plans, commissioning checklists, issue tracking logs, and production readiness documentation.
> Support manufacturing line trials, buyoffs, and production readiness reviews to ensure successful customer acceptance.
> Drive continuous improvement initiatives following installation to optimize cycle times, increase throughput, improve quality, and reduce operational waste.
> Analyze manufacturing data and performance metrics to identify opportunities for process enhancements and operational efficiency improvements.
> Provide technical support and training to manufacturing, maintenance, and production teams following project implementation.
> Coordinate cross-functional launch activities to ensure adherence to project schedules, milestone completion, and production readiness targets.

Compensation: $45/hr to $53/hr. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

Required Skills & Experience

> Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field.
> 3+ years of experience supporting manufacturing launches, system validation, commissioning, or production engineering activities.
> Experience supporting equipment startups, production launches, or industrial automation deployments within a manufacturing environment.
> Strong root cause analysis and structured problem-solving skills utilizing methodologies such as 5 Why, Fishbone, A3, or similar tools.
> Experience working within automotive, industrial automation, or high-volume manufacturing environments.
> Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

> Experience with automation technologies (AMRs, AGVs, robotics integration).
> Knowledge of ERP/WMS systems and digital twin applications.
> Prior experience working in a Center of Excellence or global standards role.
