Job Description

Insight Global is looking for a Data Engineer to support one of our aerospace customers. The Data Engineer is responsible for owning and actively evolving the data platform, balancing hands on development with platform stability and improvement. This role goes beyond ticket execution and support work; the engineer brings energy and ownership to daily work, proactively identifying opportunities, driving new initiatives, and collaborating closely with a small, global data team. Day to day includes a mix of new project development and operational support as the platform continues to grow, with an emphasis on automation, modernization, and scalable data solutions. Other responsibilities include:
• Own and develop the data platform and surrounding infrastructure, rather than operating in a ticket only support role
• Design, build, maintain, and monitor ETL/ELT pipelines that ingest, transform, and enrich data into reliable data products
• Spend approximately 50% of time on new development and 50% on platform support and operational work, including responding when existing components break
• Lead and contribute to new incoming projects, including initiatives focused on real time data and additional automated processes
• Proactively identify greenfield opportunities and independently drive solutions from idea through implementation
• Work extensively with Python and SQL to build and enhance data pipelines
• Develop and support Snowflake based components
• Support and evolve Azure based components that enable and scale the data platform
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automated testing to support reliable deployments
• Support platform operations tied to incident and change management processes while prioritizing automation and prevention
• Partner with data, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and compliance teams to implement and maintain governance, security, and metadata standards
• Identify and drive improvements to platform performance, technical debt reduction, and cloud cost optimization
• Maintain clear technical and support documentation and escalate platform risks or issues when appropriate

Compensation:
$90,000 to $120,000 per year annual salary.
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

Benefit packages for this role include:
- Medical, Dental, Vision Insurance

- Voluntary Wellness Programs
- 401(k) and RRSP programs with Company Match
