Job Summary:
The responsibility of the Engineering Manager is to give the plant the overall guidance in Engineering and Maintenance, to oversee the layout of the plant as necessary and improve all process, to give guidance and help solve the different design and engineering issues associated with the lines and the customers, to manage the local program, launch requirements as relates to all future programs. Plan, define and implement improvement initiatives. To be a liaison with product cost & Business Plan achievement as relates to current product.
Responsibilities:
Give guidance to the Engineering Department along with the Engineers assigned to Production
Give guidance to maintenance
Check work order reports to actual DT for comparison and improvement
Create improvement plans for maintenance and engineering based on DT reports
Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning work flow, line balance, space requirements, and equipment layout.
Develops manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment; conferring with equipment vendors.
Identify manufacturing process that need to be improved and develop a plan to improve
Ensure safety and quality standards are met throughout the plant
Set up PM and Predictive plans for the plant and implement. Create level 1 and 2 trouble shooting guide lines along with reaction plans and standardize work.
Plan maintenance activities to increase uptime, complete II, PMs and predictive checks in a timely manner and meet the overtime budget
Develop staff by setting goals, create and implement training plans, present feedback as needed
Oversee engineering changes and orders
Maintain TRS standards for all lines. Identify where lines do not meet standards and help to either change the standards or fix the lines to meet the standards
Understand and calculate DLE and DLP. Assist production with countermeasures to ensure improvements
Maintain a plan to improve the plant up time for all machinery to achieve standards
Identify all non-standard operations for the plant and a process to eliminate
Maintain the bill of materials for all products and ensure they are kept updated and current
Ensure safety and quality standards are met throughout the plant
Prepare and analyze month end reporting with corrective action plans
Coach team members in TS16949 and enforce standards
Participate in 5 S, implement 5S improvements
Participate in Hoshin and Continuous Improvement Events as assigned by management
Participate in and promote the goals of the Ideas Improvement Program
Stay informed of environmental aspects, follow procedures and work to eliminate or reduce the FMEA ratings as relates to position and or department
Complete all other duties and tasks as assigned by management
Compensation:
$120K-$150K
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

Hands-on experience with injection molding and/or thermal manufacturing processes
5+ years experience as a manager in a high-volume, JIT automotive manufacturing plant
Strong understanding of manufacturing engineering systems and processes across all production areas
Controls and maintenance leadership experience, specifically with Siemens controls platforms
Proven ability to support and improve multiple production lines
Capable of leading controls and maintenance teams, driving uptime and systems performance.
Direct responsibility for launch support
