Job Description
DAY‑TO‑DAY / RESPONSIBILITIES
The Service / Installation Engineer will support the installation, startup, and commissioning of robotic paint and automation systems at customer sites. This role is highly hands‑on and travel‑intensive, with a long‑term growth path toward more software‑focused work after gaining system expertise.
Installation & Commissioning
• Install, startup, debug, and commission robotic systems
• Support systems through buyoff and customer acceptance
• Teach, modify, and fine‑tune robot programs and paths
Customer Support & Troubleshooting
• Provide onsite technical support and resolve customer issues
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and software‑related problems
• Deliver prompt, professional customer communication
Training & Documentation
• Train customers and internal team members on systems
• Complete required service documentation and paperwork
• Support internal groups including hotline and training teams
Project Coordination
• Coordinate with Engineering Managers, Project Managers, and project teams
• Support lab demonstrations, simulations, and reach studies
• Assist with process improvement and additional duties as assigned
Compensation:
$60/hr to $65/hr.
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

Required Skills & Experience
• Background in computer engineering, computer science, or a technical discipline with programming exposure
• Bachelor’s degree in a related technical field
• Ability to travel extensively (overnight and weekends as required)
• Valid passport
• Valid driver’s license
• Comfortable working in industrial / manufacturing environments
• Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills
• Proficiency with Windows and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• Interest in long‑term transition into software‑focused work (the manager's end goal for this person)
• Robotics integration or automation experience
• Experience with robot programming and path teaching
• Exposure to electrical, mechanical, PLC, pneumatics, or hydraulics systems
• Prior experience installing, commissioning, or servicing complex technical systems (robotics / automation preferred)
