Job Description

*THIS ROLE IS FULLY ONSITE IN PLYMOUTH, MI



A client of Insight Global's is looking for an extremely technical Systems Engineer to work fully onsite in Plymouth, MI. The Systems Engineer will be extremely hands on with creating user profiles and logins, support all IT technical issues that occur, manager over a small team of help desk members and building out new processes and procedures in this department. The client needs someone extremely flexible and adaptable to change while supporting internal employees diagnose technical problems and troubleshoot procedures. In this role you will help create and manage support tickets to track internal employees issues and document appropriately.



SHIFT: Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM EST



1. **Systems and Servers Management:**

- Monitor and manage the health and performance of systems and servers.

- Conduct regular system updates, patches, and optimizations.



2. **Virtual Server Oversight:**

- Administer and maintain virtual server environments, with a specific focus on Hyper-V.

- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to virtual servers.



3. **Telephony System Maintenance:**

- Manage and optimize telephony systems, particularly Cisco and Meraki.

- Address telephony-related concerns and ensure seamless communication.



4. **Dell Hardware Administration:**

- Utilize expertise in Dell hardware for effective administration and troubleshooting.

- Leverage knowledge of iDRAC or Avamar for enhanced hardware management.



5. **Migrations and Implementations:**

- Lead or contribute to migration projects and business implementations.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth transitions.

Required Skills & Experience

- Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field

- 5+ years of experience as a Systems Engineer

-Extensive experience in physical networking and Meraki and Cisco network hardware

-Experience with Microsoft Hyper-V

-Extensive experience with systems, servers, and virtual servers

-Hands on experience with telephony, failover cluster management, VOIP, and (HUGE PLUS -Avamar, a back-up solution)

- Must have experience with migrations or business implementations with acquisitions

- Strong technical knowledge and troubleshooting skills

- Proficiency with IT service management tools (e.g., ServiceNow, Zendesk)

- Manage relationships with third-party vendors and service providers

- Maintain an inventory of IT assets and oversee equipment provisioning and retirement

-Experience supporting large ticket orders for bulk hiring classes

- Oversee the operation of the IT help desk, ensuring timely response and resolution of technical issues
