Insight Global is looking for aZoneEngineerto support a large automotive OEM client in the Metro-Detroit area. EachZoneEngineerwill beengineering solutionsandoptimizing the manufacturing methods, process, sequencing,andspecified tooling for a zone of 30+ workstations in the final/general assembly of a vehicle. TheZoneEngineerwill facilitateandmanager the tasks,engineering changes,andsolutions needed for thatzoneto be executed for launch. TheZoneEngineerwill need to have a strong familiarity with the toolingandprocess for assembling a vehicle, preferably the final assembly. They will be responsible for communicating with plant representatives, tooling suppliers,andinternalengineering teams (ergonomics, industrial, etc.) to optimize theirzoneandimplement solutions for any process orengineering changes for theirzone. Factors such as tooling, time standards, ergonomics,andmanpower will be designed, trialed,andmapped for the given upcoming vehicle program to ensure the most efficientandsafe process is in place for proper manufacturing of the vehicle.

3+ years of experience in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Process Engineering or related
Experience the assembly methods, process, and/or execution for automotive industry or fast-paced manufacturing environment. Develops the method, tooling, processes and sequences required to assemble the vehicle, working with suppliers to deliver tooling per assembly specifications
Experience speaking with suppliers, vendors, or plant representatives and holding those relationships
