Job Description

The UI/UX Analyst will lead the design and user experience of digital applications, ensuring usability, accessibility, and alignment with State of Michigan standards. This role involves both user research and design execution, with a strong focus on accessibility (WCAG 2.1 compliance is a strict requirement).

Key Responsibilities:
• Design user interfaces and experiences for new and existing applications
• Conduct user research (e.g., observations, card sorting, questionnaires)
• Create wireframes, mockups, and high-fidelity prototypes
• Perform usability and ADA testing using tools like JAWS, Wave, Axe, Siteimprove
• Collaborate with business analysts, product owners, technical leads, and developers
• Advocate for end-user needs and accessibility throughout the design process
• Ensure compliance with SOM Digital Guidelines and ADA standards

$40/hr to $45/hr

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

Required Skills & Experience

Must-Have Skills:
• 3–5 years of UI design experience
• 3–5 years of user research experience
• Education or certification in graphic design, interaction design, or related field
• Experience with Figma
• Strong understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1)
• Experience conducting usability and ADA testing
