Job Description

Insight Global is looking for an IT Technician for an automotive supplier in the Metro Detroit Area. This individual will join the team responsible for providing technical support for both hardware and software within the company's manufacturing plant.



Specific Responsibilities Include:

· Resolve support calls within the defined SLA.

· Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, software, and peripherals.

· Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues in a timely manner.

· Provide technical support to end-users, including diagnosing and resolving technical problems.

· Set up and maintain user accounts, permissions, and security settings.

· Monitor and maintain computer systems and networks to ensure optimal performance and security.

· Collaborate with other IT team members to implement and maintain IT policies and procedures.

· Document IT processes, procedures, and troubleshooting steps for knowledge sharing.

· Conducts floor level training on new equipment.

· Flexible Shift -- Based on Department Manager's Needs. Must be able to support weekend production.

· Complete and communicate end of shift notes including issues seen on the floor and project completion updates.

Train end-users on the proper use of the MES system and provide ongoing support Install, configure, and maintain the MES software and hardware components.

Required Skills & Experience

· Experience as an IT Technician or in a similar role

· Knowledge of computer hardware, software, and networking concepts

· Proficiency in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues.

· Familiarity with Windows and Linux operating systems.

· Ability to retrieve data from a database using basic SQL commands (SELECT statements) including filtering, sorting, and limiting results

· Experience/Familiar with Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, group policy, and other network protocols

Strong communication and customer service skills

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

· Prior experience working in a manufacturing environment

· Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP)

· Knowledge of automotive-specific software applications and systems.

· Experience with MES systems
