Job Description

A large Material Handling Company is looking for a Director of Business Development. This person will be responsible for leading overall business development efforts from initiating customer outreach to preparing and leading customer workshops. The primary goal of this role is to secure face-to-face meetings with potential clients by utilizing its vast network of contacts. The Director of Business Development qualifies leads and develops relationships with potential clients by educating and consulting them at an early stage in their decision-making process. This person must be willing and able to learn and educate themselves on both their customers and the industry as a whole, while also able to connect and build strong customer relationships. They must be a natural problem solver and able to offer customers creative solutions. This role will involve presentations and keynote speaking, so strong communication and presentation skills are a must. Additionally, this role will require travel to develop face to face relationships across the country, so 40% travel will be required. When this role reaches advanced sales stages, it will be handed off to another member of the team. This is a true business development role, which will require sales experience, however, this person will not be the one closing the deals with customers.

Required Skills & Experience

* Bachelor's Degree in sales or marketing related field

* 3+ years' experience with sales in material handling industry

* Experience prospecting large complex business relationships.

* Hunting mentality and comfortable with solution-oriented selling strategy

* Willing to travel up to 40%

* Excellent Speaker and comfortable speaking to large groups
