Job Description

Job Summary:
Support the delivery of company’s Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) through effective management of CIP projects by managing projects throughout the project’s lifecycle, from inception through close-out including scope, schedule, cost adjustment, performance assessment, quality, risk, and safety management, continuous improvement, communication and negotiation, and change management.

Responsibilities:
• Project Management: Oversee scope, schedule, budget, and performance; manage multiple projects and allocate resources.
• Coordination & Communication: Collaborate with internal teams, contractors, and stakeholders; maintain strong relationships and clear communication.
• Planning & Forecasting: Develop project plans, budgets, schedules, and baseline forecasts; monitor cash flow and variances.
• Compliance & Quality: Ensure adherence to CIP Program standards, change management, quality control, and regulatory requirements.
• Risk & Performance Management: Identify and mitigate risks; track progress against baselines; enforce contractor compliance.
• Procurement & Cost Control: Coordinate with procurement; manage cost control processes and deliverables.
• Reporting: Provide analyses, performance indicators, and reports for leadership and stakeholders.

Compensation Starting At: $115,000. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education. Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Required Skills & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, or Electrical preferred), Construction Management, Business, or a related field
• Active Michigan PE license or PMP certification OR willing to obtain within first year of employment
• 10+ years of project management experience on capital projects in utilities, water, or industrial/manufacturing environments
• 10+ years of design experience
o (review of engineering drawings, specifications, and coordination with consulting engineers)
• 10+ years of construction experience
o (contractor coordination, RFIs, submittals, change orders, schedule, and cost control)
• Ability to read and interpret civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical drawings and assess constructability and compliance
• Experience managing projects through the full lifecycle, from design through construction and close out

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• Wastewater treatment experience (treatment plants, pump stations, collection systems, or related infrastructure)
• Experience working in a municipal utility or regulated environment
• Familiarity with Capital Improvement Programs (CIP) and public infrastructure projects
