Job Description:

A client is seeking a Civil Engineer III (CE III) with experience in water, wastewater, and stormwater projects to support complex municipal infrastructure initiatives. This role is responsible for leading the planning, design, and execution of projects from initial concept through construction and start-up, including preparing cost estimates and coordinating field activities. The engineer will direct junior staff and technical teams in the development and review of plans, specifications, and project deliverables. Additionally, this individual will manage project scope, budgets, schedules, and contracts to ensure all client requirements and contractual commitments are met. The position requires regular collaboration with internal teams and attendance at client, council, and board meetings, including occasional after-hours engagements. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, technical expertise, and the ability to maintain high-quality standards across all phases of water and wastewater projects.

Projects may include water and/or wastewater treatment facilities, combined sewer overflow facilities, sanitary sewer stations, booster pump stations, transmission and/or distribution mains.

Day to Day:

• Lead and support water/wastewater projects from start to finish, helping guide designs and seeing projects through construction
• Work with a team of engineers and designers, reviewing plans and helping mentor more junior teammates
• Manage project budgets, schedules, and scope to keep everything running on track and aligned with client expectations
• Coordinate with clients, contractors, and internal teams to move projects forward and solve any issues that come up
• Spend time reviewing designs, checking quality, and making sure all work meets engineering standards and requirements
Attend some client and project meetings (sometimes with municipalities or boards) to provide updates and support decision-making

Required Skills & Experience

Must Haves:
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
Professional Engineer (PE) License or ability to obtain within 6 months
6+ years of experience with Municipal Water and / or Wastewater projects
Experience in the evaluation, planning, design, and construction of one of the following projects: Water & Wastewater Treatment plants, Pump Stations, Sewer, Stormwater and/or Lift Stations
