Job Description
Insight Global is looking for a Power Electronics Lab Tech for a premier client located in Dearborn, Michigan. The technician will perform the following general daily tasks 8hrs per day, 5 days a week, In-person each day, 40 hours per week: Run lab equipment daily (start/stop testing), undergo training on various equipment such as Leak testers, thermal chambers, high voltage DC power supplies, loading and unloading of DUTs onto lap equipment, loading parts on carts, transferring carts from storage to thermal chambers, connecting hoses, HVDC harnesses, and LVDC harnesses, Inspect components of inverters, assemble test sample inverters, prepare test setups in lab including high voltage testers, thermal chambers, power cycles, ovens, chillers, coolant unites, conduct testing based on established procedures, assist in troubleshooting test setups, and support test lab operations including shipping/receiving/inventory of test samples, etc.

Required Skills & Experience
1 year of experience in mechanical assembly and electrical wiring
Experience working in test labs for power electronics or electrical machines
Knowledge of running manual or automated tests in a lab environment
Experience with machining
Experience with thermocouple welding
Experience with complex wiring harness fabrication
Knowledge of CAN, EtherCAT, and Ethernet communication protocols
Knowledge or certification of PCB IPC 610 and J-STD standards
Ability to use an electrical meter to measure high voltage
Proficiency in MS Office applications (PowerPoint, Outlook, Word, and Excel)
Knowledge or experience in equipment lockout procedures (Energy Control / Power Lock-out - ECPL)
Knowledge of higher voltage systems in industrial or electric automotive applications
