Job Description

A material handling client of Insight Global is seeking an experienced Electrical Installation Supervisor to lead on-site electrical installations for industrial automation and material handling projects. This role is highly hands-on and focused on ensuring installations are executed correctly, safely, and consistently according to client-specific requirements, not just generic industry standards.
This position involves approximately 90% travel (typically 10 days on / 4 days off). All travel is paid. Candidates will initially spend several weeks in Grand Rapids to learn internal processes, review ePlans, and shadow existing supervisors before deploying to project sites.

Key Responsibilities
Lead small to large-scale installation projects from execution through handoff
Manage and coordinate vendors and subcontractors onsite
Supervise teams ranging from 3–20 installers
Maintain a strong onsite presence to provide guidance and direction
Ensure work is performed according to client-specific installation requirements
Serve as the primary point of contact (POC) for the Controls Project Manager
Proactively relay status updates, delays, and risks
Ensure quality control and readiness for final handovers

Salary range for this position is $90,000 - $100,000 depending on previous experience and education.

Required Skills & Experience

Electrical Engineering degree or license
Journeyman electrician or Master Electrician - Can be licensed in any state
One needs to have a Master Electrician License
Experience in material handling industry
Industrial electrical experience (e.g., machine wiring, conveyor systems)
Strong leadership and communication skills- able to lead 3rd party electrical installation team
Experience leading electrical or industrial installation projects
Proficiency in Microsoft Office; AutoCAD and MS Project a plus
Strong vendor and subcontractor management skills
Comfortable managing teams of varying sizes (3–20+)
Willingness to travel up to 90%
