Job Description
This role is responsible for the design, development, validation, and ongoing support of automotive brake system components, including hydraulic brake boosters, master cylinders, disc brake calipers, and driveline park brakes.
The engineer leads new and revised product designs from concept through production, with a strong focus on performance, manufacturability, quality, cost, and regulatory compliance. This includes creating development plans and DFMEAs, performing dimensional stack‑ups, directing designers and technicians, and approving engineering drawings, BOMs, and design changes.
The position works closely with cross‑functional teams—manufacturing, quality, suppliers, sales, and customers—to ensure designs meet functional requirements and can be produced reliably at scale. Responsibilities also include developing and revising test specifications, overseeing prototype builds and validation testing, documenting results, and supporting production launch activities.
This role provides ongoing manufacturing, quality, and warranty support, including root cause analysis of design‑related issues, production validation, audit testing, and customer field concerns. The engineer also interfaces directly with customers to ensure product designs meet customer expectations and applicable government brake regulations, while developing subject‑matter expertise in brake system performance (including pedal feel) to support application and specification decisions.
