Job Description

As the Lead Responsible Sourcing Manager, you will use advanced collaboration and organizational skills to support the Global Procurement & Sustainability departments.

You will recommend, implement, and manage company North America procurement sustainability programs and initiatives, driving strategy and achieving the scope of commitments in this space. Working closely with KNA procurement and global sustainability teams, you will provide insight and influence on Responsible Sourcing and Energy category strategies in support of Supply Chain, Procurement, and Sustainability policies and goals.

You will lead the agenda creation for bi-weekly global RS team meetings.

You will maintain relationships with many external and internal stakeholders, including NGOs, industry groups, company RQNT marketing, sales, and communications, leading technical expertise to ensure responsible sourcing criteria is accurately reported and supports North America program outcomes.

You will champion and lead execution of company Programs throughout North America supply chain, supporting farmers & advancing sustainable agriculture, ultimately improving financial resiliency of farmers (i.e. productivity, cost reduction, revenue) with a myriad of environmental outcomes (i.e. soil health, biodiversity).

You will ensure Responsible Sourcing of Our Priority Ingredients and evolving RS metrics for North America through participation in category strategy and supplier selection processes/ evaluations and working with in-scope suppliers to achieve company requirements across commodities. Our partners are extensions of the company family and name; you will manage these supplier relationships, working directly with sustainability counterparts to gain alignment and progress company sustainability agenda.

You will support conservation of natural resources within the North American supply chain, aligned to company policies and targets (i.e. GHG emissions, renewable electricity, water, waste, packaging, climate, deforestation)

You will progress practices for operating ethically & protecting human rights, partnering with company ethics and compliance department. You will support mitigation of potential human rights risks and remediation of issues associated with our salient human rights.

You will support farmer-facing commercial activations & communications, including claims. Support decision-making for action and inaction leading understanding of program potential, resources needed, external landscape and expectations.

You will drive global execution alignment and next generation thinking within the Responsible Sourcing team, acting as champion for work processes, communication best practices, and continuous education. You will facilitate sharing of knowledge amongst subject matter experts across regions.

You will support the global Sustainability team in responding to public and private commentary and commodity data or reporting requests by revisiting priorities as new information and risk presents itself and facilitating global data collection processes/ formats and alignment.

You will work closely with suppliers to provide understanding and support execution of company requirements, including code of conduct assessments, use of SEDEX, company Grower Survey implementation and more. You will connect with external peers and relationships for benchmarking.

Required Skills & Experience

5-7 years of experience in similar or related role (if candidate has post grad degree), 10 years of experience required, if not.
Experience managing procurement sustainability programs - preferably within sustainability CPG or food industry.
Candidate needs to have working knowledge of sustainable agriculture.
Experience working within procurement organization and partnering with suppliers on long term projects.
Candidate needs to have exceptionally strong PM skills and contract mgmt. skills role will have dual responsibility in managing NA responsible sourcing and global responsible sourcing PMO.
Needs to be familiar with global greenhouse gas protocol.
Experienced in sustainability communications - story telling, corporate comms, etc.
Experience with stakeholder mgmt. internal and external.
Strong collaboration and organizational skills while working with a team and independently is a must.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Experience directly working with farmers and suppliers (agricultural projects, etc.).
Experience or knowledge of labor and human rights programs - specifically SEDEX and SMETA audits.
