Job Description
Day to Day:
In this role, you will be responsible for the daily maintenance, support, and optimization of enterprise-level CAE (Computer-Aided Engineering) applications and the infrastructure they run on. Your day will typically involve monitoring the health and performance of simulation environments, managing job scheduling systems like LSF, and ensuring that CAE tools are properly installed, configured, and licensed across both client and server systems. You’ll write and maintain scripts using shell languages such as Korn shell, C Shell, or Perl to automate routine tasks and perform system health checks. A key part of your responsibilities will include troubleshooting application issues, maintaining license servers, and collaborating with engineering teams to ensure their simulation workloads run efficiently. You’ll also document system configurations, track outages, and contribute to process improvements, all while adhering to change management protocols and providing high-quality technical support through a ticketing system.
Compensation:
$20/hr to $40/hr

Required Skills & Experience
Must Have:
• Strong understanding of CAE tools and their integration in engineering workflows.
• 5+ years experience of supporting a Linux environment
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Korn shell, C Shell, Perl, or Awk.
• Experience with job scheduling systems like LSF in a Linux/Unix environment.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong documentation and communication skills.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Plusses:
• Experience with high-performance computing (HPC) environments or clusters
• Familiarity with CAE tools such as ANSYS, Abaqus, Nastran, or LS-DYNA
• Experience maintaining or optimizing license servers (e.g., FlexLM, RLM)
Exposure to containerization or virtualization technologies (e.g., Docker, Singularity)
