Job Description

We are looking for a Software Development Engineer with a strong understand of applied computer vision to join our team. This role focuses on building and supporting real-world perception software that interfaces directly with a controls layer in a high-speed system. The ideal candidate is a versatile software engineer who can juggle multiple responsibilities—from developing and supporting computer vision–enabled application modules, to owning deployment infrastructure, to supporting systems in the field. While computer vision and stereo depth perception are critical components of the work, this is not a research or computer vision scientist role. The emphasis is on reliable, maintainable, production-ready software.

What You’ll Be Working On:
Developing software modules that use computer vision and stereo depth perception to enable downstream controls applications
Supporting high-speed applications where perception data is used to make real-time or near-real-time control decisions (e.g., object/pod detection and removal)
Building and maintaining application-level software, including interfaces between the perception layer and the controls layer
Owning and maintaining deployment infrastructure, including containerization and cloud-based environments (AWS)
Supporting deployed systems, including field support, troubleshooting, and performance tuning
Working across development, deployment, and operational phases of the software lifecycle

Key Responsibilities:
Design, implement, and maintain production-grade software applications written primarily in Python
Implement and integrate stereo vision / perception functionality into broader application workflows
Develop and maintain interfaces between perception software and controls systems
Build, deploy, and operate services using Docker and AWS infrastructure
Write and maintain Linux-based tooling and scripts to support development, deployment, and diagnostics
Support live systems in the field, including debugging, issue resolution, and system improvements
Collaborate closely with controls, hardware, and systems teams to ensure reliable end-to-end behavior

Compensation:
$68-70/hr

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

Benefit packages for this role will start on the 1st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching.
