Job Description

A small pharmaceutical company is seeking a System Administrator will be responsible for managing and maintaining the IT infrastructure, ensuring secure, reliable, and efficient operations across servers, networks, and enterprise applications. This role supports critical pharmaceutical systems and compliance requirements, enabling seamless business operations in a regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities
• System Maintenance & Configuration:
Install, configure, and maintain servers, operating systems (Windows/Linux), and enterprise applications.
• Network & Security Management:
Monitor LAN/WAN performance, implement firewalls, IDS/IPS, and enforce security protocols to meet HIPAA/GxP compliance.
• User & Access Management:
Set up accounts, manage permissions, and ensure secure access to systems and data.
• System Monitoring & Troubleshooting:
Proactively monitor system health, diagnose issues, and resolve hardware/software/network problems.
• Backup & Disaster Recovery:
Implement robust backup strategies and maintain disaster recovery plans to ensure business continuity.
• Compliance & Documentation:
Maintain system documentation, support audits, and ensure adherence to pharmaceutical regulatory standards (CSV, SOX).
• Automation & Optimization:
Use scripting (PowerShell, Python) to automate routine tasks and optimize system performance.

Required Skills & Experience

Must-Have:
• 4-6 years of system admin experience (midlevel)
• Hands-on experience with Windows Server and Microsoft Entra Intune (configurations, deployments, enhancements)
• Proficiency in cloud platforms (Azure)
• Experience with Active Directory
• PowerShell scripting experience (at least 1 year)

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Plusses:
- Experience within a regulated industry (pharma or healthcare preferred).
- Experience supporting C-suite
- CloudAlly Platform (this is their backup platform)
- PatchMyPC (intune integration and patching)
- Strong knowledge of networking (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP), firewalls, and security tools.
