An employer in the life sciences industry is looking for a Sr. Data Analytics Developer to join the team and sit fully-remote. The organization is launching a transformative data initiative to modernize their data architecture and enhance analytics capabilities. This project involves transitioning from traditional data solutions like Informatica, Data Warehouse, and Cognos to a cutting-edge architecture using Databricks, Unity Catalog, Fabric, and Power BI. The goal is to create a scalable, efficient, and robust data environment that supports advanced analytics and real-time decision-making. Key aspects of the project include moving to a modern architecture with Databricks and Data Lake at the core, implementing nested semantic models for data consistency, and adopting a DevOps approach with a modular code base backed by Git. The role will also focus on enhancing collaboration between onshore and offshore resources to maintain development throughput and ensure seamless architectural changes. Responsibilities include task assignment, oversight of solution design, and coaching junior developers. The Senior Data Analytics Developer will lead the design, development, and maintenance of complex Power BI reports and dashboards, architect and implement data solutions, manage data pipelines and ETL processes, and utilize advanced DAX coding. They will also optimize performance and scalability, define monitoring systems for key KPIs, and collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to deliver actionable insights. The role involves guiding the team through architectural changes, leading team meetings, and ensuring projects are completed on schedule.

Must be expert within PowerBI development. Needs to be able to independently solve problems, understand the entire landscape (gateways, connections, data flows, queries), and work without extensive guidance.
Proven experience in transitioning from traditional data solutions (Informatica, Data Warehouse, Cognos) to modern architectures.
Familiar with new technologies like MS Fabric (preferred), with experience in attempting innovative solutions in current projects.
Must be proficient in GitHub, able to create and manage modular code bases, ensuring sustainable builds.
Able to read and understand SQL queries and their functions.
Experience with database or data warehouse management, typically associated with Power BI.
Familiarity with data warehouses.
Able to lead meetings and work effectively with team members.
Experience in processing Jira boards and tickets, or any similar tool.
Experience solution designing, with the ability to guide the team towards the target architecture.
Awareness of nested semantic model for data consistency and reusability.
Experience using PowerBI without data flows - able to process data in and create dashboards without flows.
