Job Description
A growing biopharma company is seeking a Data Engineer to join their data team in Waltham, MA (hybrid basis). The team includes developers, analysts, and engineers, and this role reports directly to the Senior Director of Data Engineering.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
• Build and optimize Azure Fabric-based pipelines using Data Factory, OneLake, Lakehouse, and Pipelines.
• Develop robust T-SQL, Power Query, and PySpark transformations for commercial datasets.
• Integrate third-party sources such as IQVIA, Veeva CRM, and HCP/HCO master data.
• Build and maintain data pipelines to support commercial data workflows.
• Work closely with commercial teams to understand data requirements and ensure accurate delivery.
• Support the migration of legacy systems to a data lake environment, with a target completion by the end of the year.
• Contribute to technical strategy and execution within an Agile framework.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including data engineers, developers, and business stakeholders.
Compensation:
$70/hour to $75/hour
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

Required Skills & Experience
• 5-8 years as a Data Engineer
• 2-3 years of experience working with commercial data within the pharmaceutical industry
• Proven hands-on with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, Lakehouse, Blob Storage, Synapse, Power BI, and ADLS Gen2
• Experience SQL, Power Query (M), PySpark
• Proficiency in Python for data engineering tasks.
• Expertise in data warehousing, data lake architectures, and data modeling techniques
• Strong experience with ETL/ELT processes and tools
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• Familiarity with IQVIA datasets, Veeva CRM, and pharma sales/engagement models
• Experience with CI/CD using Azure DevOps or GitHub
