Job Description
Insight Global is looking to hire a Tooling engineer for design support for tooling fixtures, gages, and sub-assemblies; may also include market analysis and technician cost modeling. Day to day responsibilities include:
Design and develop tooling fixtures, gages, and sub-assemblies to support manufacturing and robotic equipment integration
Create and revise CADD models using NX, applying GD&T principles and performing stack-up analysis to ensure design accuracy and manufacturability
Redline and check engineering drawings for compliance, clarity, and completeness
Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including engineering, production, and calibration—to align tooling designs with operational needs
Translate conceptual designs into practical, real-world solutions that support production efficiency and quality standards
Apply GxP standards throughout the design and documentation process
Support market analysis and technician cost modeling as needed for tooling-related projects
Participate in design reviews and provide technical input on tooling feasibility and implementation
Compensation for this role ranges from $55 to $70/HR depending on skillset, education and experience.

Required Skills & Experience
• 2–3 years of relevant experience in tooling design within medical device or automotive industries
• Proficiency in CADD (NX preferred), including:
o GD&T application
o Redlining and model creation
o Stack-up analysis for fixture and gage design
• Experience designing tooling fixtures for robotic equipment
• Familiarity with GxP standards
• Strong understanding of real-world manufacturing processes and how designs translate into implementation
• Ability to work cross-functionally and communicate effectively with engineering and production teams
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• Experience as a CADD checker
• Hands-on experience with:
o Wax injection molding tooling
o CNC fixturing
o Laser fixturing
• Exposure to technician cost modeling or market analysis for tooling support
