Job Description
We are seeking a seasoned Senior Application Architect / Developer with deep Healthcare IT and enterprise architecture expertise to design, build, and support large-scale Health Information Exchange (HIE) applications.
Program Overview:
This role focuses on enabling secure, standards-based connectivity among healthcare organizations to improve the quality, safety, and cost-effectiveness of care. The position involves leading application architecture across the full software development lifecycle, modernizing and supporting existing systems, and ensuring alignment with healthcare interoperability standards and industry best practices.
The ideal candidate brings strong hands-on technical skills, deep experience with healthcare messaging and middleware platforms, and the ability to collaborate effectively with business, technical, and executive stakeholders to deliver scalable, secure, and high-performing enterprise solutions.
Job Duties
Collaborate with business teams to understand requirements.
Incorporate software and system architecture into conceptual designs.
Maintain knowledge of current and emerging technologies, standards, and trends, and implement them into solutions.
Oversee the design process for application software development throughout the lifecycle.
Create technical documentation such as design, environment, deployment, and architecture.
Communicate effectively with all teams and stakeholders during these activities.
Required Skills
Experience developing APIs (RESTful and SOAP).
Expertise in Java, J2EE, Servlets, JSP, JMS, JavaBeans, JSTL, JSF, Struts, EJB, Spring, Hibernate, JTA, JNDI, JPA, .NET Framework 4.8, ASP.NET Web Forms, Web API, WCF, XML, JavaScript (ES6/ES2021), HTML5, CSS3, JSON, jQuery, Angular, Python, and Node.js.
Experience with healthcare messaging using web services, XML, CCD/CCDA, CDR, XDR.
Experience customizing software using middleware technologies like Orion’s Rhapsody, Ensemble, Mirth, WebSphere, MQ, Web Methods, and JBoss.
Ability to develop routes, filters, and communication points using Orion’s Rhapsody.
Build full-stack applications using JavaScript (Node.js and MongoDB), front-end JavaScript (jQuery, AngularJS), Java/J2EE, HTML, and CSS.
Expertise in Spring framework (Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Security, Spring JPA, Spring Batch).
Design applications using Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana, and other big data/NoSQL technologies.
Develop asynchronous programming patterns and service-oriented architecture.
Experience with version control tools like GitHub, Subversion (SVN), and CVS.
Maintain and verify code standards; test and deploy code.
Compensation: $48/hr to $56/hr. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

Required Skills & Experience
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or related field.
10+ years of strong technical programming and architecture experience.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in hands-on programming.
Healthcare IT experience preferred.
