Job Description
The Mechanical Engineer will support the design and refinement of mechanical components for medical device systems, including molded parts and assemblies. This role focuses on component‑level design while maintaining responsibility for interface definition, tolerance analysis, and integration into the overall device architecture. Engineers will work closely with Product Development and Validation teams to support design verification efforts and downstream testing.
This is a hands‑on mechanical design role supporting active development programs in a regulated environment.
Compensation: $45/hr to $55/hr. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education. Employees in this role will enjoy a comprehensive benefits package starting on day one of employment, including options for medical, dental, and vision insurance. Eligibility to enroll in the 401(k) retirement plan begins after 90 days of employment. Required Skills & Experience
- 4+ years of mechanical engineering experience (E3: 4–5 years | Senior: 5–8 years)
- Strong mechanical design experience using SolidWorks or similar CAD tools
- Experience creating print packages and detailed drawings from CAD designs
- Experience designing individual components AND integrating them into full device assemblies
- Solid understanding of tolerance analysis, interfaces, and assembly integration
- Experience applying industry standards (e.g., ASME Y14.5)
- Experience supporting design verification testing efforts
- Experience working with external vendors and suppliers
- Medical device or other highly regulated industry experience
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
- Experience with plastic injection molding and molded component design
- Familiarity with FEA and structural analysis techniques
- Experience supporting automated or electromechanical systems
- Ability to support design changes through downstream validation phases
