Job Description
We are seeking a seasoned consultant to lead and centralize Clinical Biomarker Operations for Rheumatology and Rare Disease programs. This is a strategic operations role, not a lab-based scientific position. The consultant will partner biomarker leads to define best practices, set strategy, and refresh roles and responsibilities for biomarker operations across late-stage clinical studies.

Key Responsibilities
• Strategy Development:
o Formulate and implement a biomarker operations strategy for Rheumatology and Rare Disease portfolios.
o Gather input from biomarker leads and integrate prior experience to shape a new JD for biomarker operations roles.
• Operational Leadership:
o Centralize biomarker operations across sites and central labs.
o Drive change management and establish best practices for internal biomarker systems, dashboards, and software.
• Team Management:
o Provide leadership and guidance to a team of 3–4 biomarker operations professionals.
o Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure operational excellence.
• Consultative Support:
o Act as a trusted advisor to Zheng and the therapeutics team.
o Support late-stage clinical studies with complex operational needs.

Required Skills & Experience
• Education: Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in a relevant field (scientific background preferred but not lab-focused).
• Experience:
o Minimum 8–10 years in clinical biomarker operations within large pharma.
o Proven track record in strategy formulation and change management.
o Prior Director-level experience managing biomarker operations teams.
o Hands-on experience with biomarker operations systems and dashboards (strategic use, not data analysis).
• Skills:
o Strong leadership and communication skills; ability to listen and synthesize input into actionable strategy.
o Collaborative team player with ability to influence and drive organizational change.
