Job Description
We are seeking experienced Registered Nurse Data Abstractors to support a healthcare data migration initiative. This fully remote project will focus on manually abstracting patient information from an end client's proprietary Electronic Case Report (eCR) system and accurately entering the data into a new platform. The ideal candidate will have a strong clinical nursing background, exceptional attention to detail, and experience working with confidential patient information.
This engagement will begin with a 2-week pilot phase. Following a successful review, the project is expected to continue into a 4–6 week production phase, with additional ad hoc review work available as needed.
Responsibilities
Review and interpret patient information within a proprietary eCR system
Manually abstract and accurately transfer clinical data into a new platform
Validate data for completeness, accuracy, and consistency throughout the migration process
Apply clinical judgment to identify relevant patient information and documentation
Maintain productivity and quality metrics while meeting project deadlines
Follow established data abstraction protocols, workflows, and compliance requirements
Collaborate with project leadership to resolve data discrepancies and escalations
Ensure confidentiality and security of all patient health information (PHI)
Participate in training, calibration sessions, and quality reviews as required

Required Skills & Experience
Required Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
Clinical nursing experience in a healthcare setting
Current Good Clinical Practice (GCP) certification
Current Research Ethics certification
Experience reviewing and interpreting patient medical records
Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency with computers and web-based applications
Ability to maintain accuracy while performing high-volume data abstraction work
Technical Requirements
Personal laptop or home computer capable of supporting project requirements
Reliable, high-speed internet connection
Private, secure workspace suitable for handling confidential information
Ability to participate in virtual training and team meetings
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Previous medical record abstraction or chart review experience
Experience supporting clinical research, registries, or healthcare data migration projects
Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR/EMR) systems
Experience working in remote project-based environments
