Job Description
A healthcare client is seeking a Manager, Accessibility to lead and scale our accessibility practice across the full product suite. You will manage a team of accessibility specialists responsible for Section 508 compliance, WCAG conformance, and remediation efforts across our B2B SaaS healthcare products.
This role blends people leadership with program ownership. You'll be accountable for the maturity, velocity, and impact of our accessibility program — setting the vision, removing blockers for your team, and representing accessibility at the leadership level. You'll ensure that accessibility is not treated as an afterthought but is embedded into how the client designs, builds, and ships software.
What You'll Do
Team Leadership
• Manage, mentor, and grow a team of accessibility specialists, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning
• Set individual and team goals aligned with organizational accessibility objectives and conduct regular 1:1s
• Drive hiring and onboarding for accessibility roles as the team scales
• Ensure workload balance and prioritization across the team, accounting for product release cycles and audit timelines
• Bring applications into conformance with WCAG 2.2 AA standards to meet and exceed Section 508 requirements
• Establish and maintain a centralized compliance tracking framework with documented severity levels, ownership, and resolution timelines
• Define and report on program-level KPIs — remediation velocity, backlog trends, compliance posture
Cross-Functional Strategy
• Partner with engineering, design, QA, and product management leadership to embed accessibility requirements earlier in the development lifecycle
• Advise on accessibility implications of architectural decisions, design system changes, and third-party integrations
• Champion accessibility awareness across the organization through training programs, documentation, and internal advocacy
• Influence product roadmap planning to ensure accessibility work is appropriately resourced and prioritized
Process & Automation
• Drive the integration of automated accessibility testing into CI/CD pipelines in partnership with QA leadership
• Establish standards and review gates for how new features and components are evaluated for accessibility before release
• Continuously improve team processes, tooling, and documentation to increase efficiency and reduce rework

• Experience managing or overseeing accessibility remediation efforts at scale across multiple products or platforms
• Strong familiarity with accessibility auditing tools and assistive technologies (e.g., axe, Deque, NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver)
• Ability to understand and discuss front-end code (HTML, CSS, JavaScript/React or similar) in the context of accessibility barriers — you don't need to be a developer, but you need to bridge the gap between specialists and engineering teams
• Experience with compliance documentation, including VPATs and audit reporting
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills — you will represent the accessibility program to engineering leadership, product teams, and external partners
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
