Job Description

A large investment management firm is looking for an Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) Development Manager to join their Marketing IT team. The client has over 51 offices which service over 22 countries and currently $1.4Tn total AUM. They provide managed equity strategies, active fixed income and liquidity, alternative investments, and custom solutions. They are also committed to sustainable investing and making strides for their customers to meet their ESG goals. This role will sit onsite in downtown Boston a few days a week or secondary location is NYC. The role will be a lieutenant to a technical manager who will be providing strategic direction regarding AEM. The AEM Dev Manager will be 60% managerial in nature managing a local team of 4-5 AEM developers as well as 40% hands on AEM development/architecture. The ideal candidate will have a strong hands-on background in AEM and some sort of people management experience either as a true manager or team lead with an interest in continuing to be a hands-on technical manager.





The client's Marketing Technology team partners with Sales & Marketing teams and is responsible for strategic development and operational management of Digital and Content Marketing technology platforms. Marketing Technology team is responsible for the design, development, delivery, and support of the technical platforms built to optimize client engagement via digital channels such as Public/Secure Web, Email, Social, Mobile, drive sales/client retention via segmentation, targeting, and cross-selling models, and enable Sales & Marketing teams to increase efficiency and effectiveness.







Responsibilities:



Manage a team of 4+ Globally Distributed (NYC, Boston, India) development resources

Mentor and guide high performing engineering team.

Drive strategic and tactical decisions which ensures the successful delivery of projects.

Lead the technical design, vision, and implementation strategy.

Create execution plan and lead the engineering team to execute on the vision.

Apply best-practices and coding patterns that ensure solutions are maintainable, modular, and of high code quality.

Develop and evolve engineering processes and teamwork models, applying creative problem solving to optimize team efficiency.

Attract, hire, on-board and retain top talent. Motivate and develop the team as a player-coach to be a high-performance team.

Craft a positive winning culture built on collaboration and shared accomplishments.

Oversee Full-stack development and design of software components

Understand the architecture and functional sub-components within overall application platform

Excellent problem-solving skills, goal-oriented, self-motivated and adapts to changing situations and requirements

Collaborating with IT team members as well business stakeholders to understand requirements, application solution, development, testing and rollout

Enhance the process standards and best practices and support L3 issues for currently live systems.

Hands on experience with strong interest and aptitude for computer application design, development and maintenance

Required Skills & Experience

- 10+ years of Software Development experience with a heavy emphasis on AEM (Adobe Experience Manager) design and development required

- 5+ Years of Software Development Management/Lead experience overseeing a development team focused on AEM Application development

- Strong leadership/people management skills

- Background in programming with Java (8 or above) and Spring-boot REST services

- Past hands on development experience with AEM (6.x or above)

- Proficient in web technologies across client/server-side (JavaScript, CSS, HTML5), web infrastructure including web/app server/load balancing etc., caching/compression/security over web, content distribution network, web usage analytics.
