The Network Engineer will be a key driver in the successful design, configuration, documentation, testing, commissioning, and ongoing support of our CLAN network infrastructure. This role is critical for supporting our automation systems for QUN and QWFI within a highly regulated pharmaceutical environment. You will work with cross-functional teams to ensure robust network performance, seamless integration of multiple technical assets, and strict adherence to cybersecurity and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities
Network Design & Engineering:
o Lead the architecture and design of the CLAN network infrastructure supporting the QUN and QWFI systems.
o Develop detailed network configuration documentation to ensure repeatability, compliance, and ease of troubleshooting.
Technical Oversight & Asset Management:
o Oversee key infrastructure assets, including:
Database Administration: Manage SQL and OSI PI databases to maintain data integrity and performance.
Server and Virtualization: Support virtualized environments critical to our automated systems.
Storage and Backup: Ensure data protection and efficient storage solutions.
Cyber Security Applications and Firewall Configuration: Implement and manage security protocols to safeguard critical infrastructure.
Domain Management: Maintain domain services that underpin our networks operational integrity.
Testing and Commissioning:
o Plan, execute, and document comprehensive testing and commissioning of the CLAN infrastructure to ensure readiness and reliability prior to full deployment.
System Support & Troubleshooting:
o Provide expert-level support for all CLAN-related systems, with a specific focus on SQL and OSI PI environments.
o Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to monitor, detect, and address vulnerabilities, ensuring ongoing compliance with industry standards.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Management:
o Work closely with IT, ICS, cybersecurity, and production teams to harmonize network initiatives with broader business objectives.
o Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring smooth project execution and system adoption.
Documentation & Process Improvement:
o Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation, including network diagrams, configuration guidelines, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
o Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in network processes and systems, applying industry best practices to enhance performance and security.

o Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or a related field.
o Extensive experience in network engineering and IT support within industrial control systems (ICS), with a strong emphasis on cybersecurity.
o Proven ability to manage and troubleshoot multi-faceted assets including databases (SQL, OSI PI), server virtualization, storage solutions, and cybersecurity applications.
o Hands-on experience with firewall configuration and domain management.
o Excellent oral and written communication skills.
o Experience in GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and GAMP (Good Automated Manufacturing Practice) environments.
o Experience with database administration, specifically in managing and optimizing SQL and OSI PI databases.
o Advanced certifications such as CCNP, CISSP, or equivalent qualifications.
o Demonstrated success in designing, configuring, and supporting complex network infrastructures in a regulated environment.
o Experience in planning and executing testing and commissioning of network systems.
o Strong project management skills and a proactive approach to cross-team collaboration.
