Insight Global is seeking an Application PLC Engineer for a large energy management and engineering automation company. This organization is responsible for automating technology and installing management systems within net new data centers across the globe. We are looking for someone deep expertise in PLC programming and industrial automation. The ideal candidate will support the design, development, and implementation of automation solutions across various industries, working closely with clients and internal teams to ensure successful deployment and integration of control systems. This role will eventually transition into a lead commissioning engineer, where you will help lead and support the major Construction system integration initiatives.
This position requires travel by plane once a month to start, and after 6 months could increase to 50% across the country. The remainder of the time you can work remotely from your home, working a standard 40 hours/week, preferably sitting in EST or CST hours. Compensation ranges anywhere from $75-85/hr based on years of experience.

Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics, or related field.
3+ years of hands-on experience with PLC programming and industrial automation.
Proficiency in SCADA software like ignition
Strong understanding of industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, Ethernet/IP, Profibus).
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong communication and customer-facing skills.
Willingness to travel to client sites as needed.
