Job Description
· Managing the installation, testing, and commissioning of new telephony systems and infrastructure.
· Acting as an escalation resource for difficult technical problems related to call quality, network issues, and system performance
· Interacting with contractors, technicians, project managers, and IT/network teams to ensure seamless integration and deployment.
· Working with vendors to manage system upgrades and ensure compliance
· Establishes communications systems by installing, operating, and maintaining voice and data telecommunications network circuits and equipment.
· Evaluating and optimizing various call manager solutions and unified communication platforms.
Assist with site turn-ups, migrations, and cutovers.
The pay range for this position is $40/hr - $50/hr

Required Skills & Experience
· Bachelor’s degree in computer science, electrical/electronic engineering, information technology, or another related field
· 5-7 years of related IT/telecommunications experience
· 3-5 years of experience in engineering and configuring solutions that implement VoIP.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust. Contract requirement.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
· Plans, designs, configures, installs, implements, tests, and supports integrations of enterprise networks and secure IP telephony and VoIP solutions based on business requirements.
· Establishes deployment standards, processes, and best practices in implementation and integration to ensure high-quality deliverables and the documentation of solutions.
· Leads the creation of the configuration deployment procedures and trains integration and field engineers on various networking configurations.
· Collaborates with project managers during the project deployment phase, including documentation of all installation, customization, and integration efforts. Supports project status and day-to-day work reporting
· Develops and maintains documentation of network diagrams, system configurations, and operational procedures related to Voice infrastructure.
· Attends meetings and contributes to the decision-making process relative to the networks as a trusted advisor to senior-level management and organization policy makers.
· Installs, configures, and upgrades Unified Communications Manager (UCM). This includes similar platforms (e.g., Avaya Aura, Microsoft Teams Phone System, Asterisk).
· Deploys and configures VoIP gateways (e.g., Cisco ISR routers with voice modules), Session Border Controllers (SBCs), IP phones, and softphones.
· Implements dial plans, call routing, voicemail, auto-attendants, and other voice features.
· Integrates voice systems with other enterprise applications such as CRMs, calendaring systems, and presence solutions.
· Enables monitoring of the performance and health of the IP telephony and VoIP infrastructure.
· Assists in the transition of the deployed systems and infrastructures to the Network Operations Centers.
· Provides troubleshooting and problem resolution for voice-related issues, including call quality, connectivity, and feature functionality.
· Collaborates with telecommunication carriers and vendors to resolve external connectivity issues.
· Provides engineering support for school network integrations. This includes the review of proposed work plan submissions for network infrastructure deployments to ensure the implementation is completed.
· Utilizes and performs diagnostic and troubleshooting methodologies to determine the cause of network malfunctions and provides remote access support to resolve network-related problems that result from deployment activities.
· Conducts Quality Assurance functions by collaborating with integrators on school infrastructure refresh projects. This involves reviewing and approving work plan submissions from integration vendors for hardware and software installations
· Ensures Quality Assurance by verifying that the work completed by integration vendors is accurately documented in the school's as-built design documents.
Reviews, approves, or rejects and files Proposed Pre-As-Builts and Final Network As-Built designs for work being implemented by integration vendors.
