A client of Insight Global is looking for a Sr Level COBOL Developer to join their team of 13. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for planning, developing, testing, and documenting highly complex application programs. You will work independently, taking ownership of assignments and demonstrating initiative by energetically beginning or following through with plans, issues, or tasks. Your role includes proactively identifying and reporting risks and potential solutions to management for assigned tasks. You will code and test assignments independently, including unit testing your work, and perform high-level analysis for all tasks. Additionally, you will mentor teammates and assist less-experienced programming resources with analysis tasks.
Compensation: $37/hr. -- 42/hr. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education. Benefit packages for this role will start on the 1st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Bachelors Degree and 5+ years of directly related computer programming experience
Proficient in COBOL for programming
Creating, managing, and troubleshooting batch jobs using JCL, ensuring efficient execution and scheduling of mainframe processes
Experience designing, implementing, and maintaining VSAM datasets
Experience with CICS applications
