Job Description

Quality Control Manager

SUMMARY OF POSITION Responsible for the maintenance of the company’s quality management system. Leads and supervises a team of inspectors in a fast pace manufacturing environment to ensure product is inspected to the highest quality standards and conforms to standard print and specifications. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Management of day-to-day operations of inspection department. Facilitation of MRB review and disposition of non-conforming product. Engaged with manufacturing and purchasing to manage root cause analysis and corrective action response. Lead and facilitate quality assurance audits with customers and regulatory agencies and ownership of Quality System in regards to NADCAP and AS9100 certification Develop and maintain process procedures for adherence to AS9100 and NADCAP standards Responsible for promoting employee engagement, training and development, and delegating tasks. Drive APQP activities for new product introductions and engineering changes, ensuring smooth and successful launches. Direct root cause investigations and corrective action processes (8D, 5 Why, Fishbone, etc.) to resolve internal and customer issues. Track and improve quality performance metrics, including scrap, rework, customer complaints, and PPM, across production and assembly operations. Implement and manage Statistical Process Control (SPC) to ensure process capability, control, and long-term stability Employee performance management including metric tracking of all quality activities/output Building of effective communication within department and externally Work with design engineering and manufacturing engineering to identify critical features and inspection methodologies for all products Development of inspection documentation and tools to ensure efficient operation of the department Experience with Zeiss/Calypso software and programming is preferred.

Required Skills & Experience

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Minimum of 5 years of management experience in Quality environment. Must have experience with Zeiss CMM equipment. Programming experience is preferred. 3-5 years of precision Aerospace manufacturing experience is preferred. Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Quality Assurance is preferred Strong knowledge and experience of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen and 5S and ability to optimize inspection processes across the business Experienced in the development of quality metrics and reporting management.

Experience with implementing and maintain QMS systems is preferred Ability to manage machining and manufacturing technical issues. Knowledgeable of blueprints and proficient in Geometrical Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T). Knowledgeable in the use of inspection tools, including micrometer, comparator, and CMM. Strong knowledge FMEA, Process Qualification and Validation, and Statistical Process Control (SPC). Solid computer skills with proficiency in MS Word, Outlook and specifically Excel for spreadsheets, charting and data analysis. Strong math skills required.
