Job Description

The Industrial Engineer will own and support a designated manufacturing area, production line, or operational segment while driving continuous improvement initiatives across the operation. This individual will proactively identify opportunities to improve safety, ergonomics, labor efficiency, throughput, and capacity by conducting time studies, labor analyses, and process evaluations. They will design and optimize production layouts, material flow systems, and workstations, while assessing and implementing manufacturing technologies and productivity tools to enhance operational performance. The role requires leading projects from identification through implementation, developing labor standards and capacity models, quantifying business impact through data-driven metrics, and partnering closely with Operations, Materials, Manufacturing Engineering, and Plant Leadership. The successful candidate will also mentor junior engineers and help build scalable systems and processes that support the long-term growth and maturity of the Industrial Engineering function.

Compensation: $100,000 to $130,000 per year annual salary.

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

Required Skills & Experience

• 8-10 years of Industrial Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or related engineering discipline
• Proven experience leading complex projects independently
• Deep understanding of:
○ Materials flow and materials management systems
○ Finished goods storage optimization
○ Production line design and layout
○ Labor planning and capacity utilization
○ Manufacturing process improvement methodologies
• Strong foundation in Lean Manufacturing & Continuous Improvement
• Hands-on experience with:
○ Time studies & work measurement
○ Labor utilization analysis
○ Standard work development
○ Capacity and throughput modeling
○ Waste identification and elimination
○ Process mapping and workflow optimization
• Experience evaluating and implementing process improvement tools and manufacturing technologies
• High proficiency with:
○ AutoCAD (SolidWorks, BricsCAD, etc.)
○ Microsoft Excel
○ Facility layout and capacity planning tools
• Comfortable working directly on the production floor in an active manufacturing environment
• Natural technical leader who can influence without formal authority
Demonstrated experience mentoring junior engineers or less experienced team members

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• Experience helping build or transform an Industrial Engineering function
• Experience implementing Industrial Engineering best practices in low-maturity environments
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems and materials planning tools
• Knowledge of ergonomic analysis and workstation design
• Six Sigma or Lean certification (Green/Black Belt)
• Experience supporting automation or higher-volume production scaling
• Experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) or production control systems
• Experience supporting automation initiatives and production scaling efforts
• Knowledge of advanced Lean Methodology
• Experience evaluating commercially available manufacturing solutions versus internally developed solutions
