Job Description

Insight Global is looking for a NICU Nurse in the Bethesda, MD area. The role prioritizes patient care based on needs and resources (time, staff, equipment, supplies); evaluates care effectiveness by self/team and engages in education, performance improvement, and safety programs; shows expertise in complex meds/IVs (blood, TPN), oxygen/ventilator support, and pulmonary care; administers meds accurately, counts narcotics, and floats to units as needed; ensures precise EHR docs; applies knowledge for decision-making in patient populations; participates in staff development, orientation, training, cross-training, and ongoing education; seeks validation/guidance; communicates professionally via chain of command, builds relationships, and resolves issues; masters systems like ESSENTRIS, CHCS, PYXIS; cares for normal/high-risk newborns, spots emergencies, operates equipment (bili lights, warmers, monitors), interprets development, gavage feeds, recovers from anesthesia, handles post-anesthetic problems, performs NRP, provides ICU for critically ill neonates, monitors rhythms/hemodynamics, attends high-risk deliveries, joins multi-disciplinary rounds/education, knows resources, holds certifications (BLS, neonatal meds), ensures safe environments, completes orientation in 60 days, maintains records, addresses ethical/legal issues with crisis support, and upholds infection control, plus other duties.

Required Skills & Experience

- A graduate of an Associate, Bachelor or Master s program of Registered Nursing. The institution will be from a National League of Nursing (NLN) approved program.

- Holds Active Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification

- Holds Active S.T.A.B.L.E. Certification

- Holds Active Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification

- Valid, unrestricted, RN license at least 1 state, territory or commonwealth of the US.

- At least two years of concurrent full-time Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) experience within the last three years.

- Ability to obtain a DHA Public Trust Clearance
