Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Cyber Architect to lead the design and implementation of secure systems within a federal civilian agency. This role focuses on enterprise security architecture, risk management, and compliance with federal standards.
Design and maintain enterprise cybersecurity architecture aligned with mission goals
Develop security strategies across on premise, cloud, and hybrid environments
Ensure systems meet federal security requirements such as NIST, FISMA, and FedRAMP
Lead threat modeling, risk assessments, and mitigation planning
Collaborate with engineering, infrastructure, and compliance teams
Evaluate and recommend security tools and frameworks
Support Authority to Operate processes and documentation
Define zero trust architecture strategies and roadmaps
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to security teams
Participate in incident response planning and security operations improvements.
Targeting $60-100 an hour.

Required Skills & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, IT, Computer Science, or related field
10+ years of cybersecurity experience
Experience designing enterprise level security architectures
Strong knowledge of federal security frameworks like NIST 800-53 and RMF
Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
Familiarity with identity and access management, network security, and encryption
Ability to translate business requirements into security solutions
Strong communication skills for technical and non technical audiences
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
CISSP, CISM, or similar certifications
Experience in federal civilian or public sector environments
Knowledge of Zero Trust Architecture
Experience supporting FedRAMP or FISMA environments
