Job Description

Insight Global is seeking 1 Senior Accountant to join the Internal Reporting team for a large healthcare system based out of Linthicum, MD. The Internal Reporting & Client Service Team is responsible for ensuring the monthly and annual close of the general ledger of the 8 Member Organizations (MO) of the Healthcare system (comprised of hospital(s) and numerous joint ventures and subsidiaries). The monthly close process includes budget variance analysis of expenses as well as use of various analytical tools to help determine the accuracy of our financials. Our focus is on serving our customers, which include each MOs CFO, Decision Support teams, RRAS, customers within the hospitals, and all other financial reporting departments. Included in the Internal Reporting teams purview are the physician practices. They are grouped for reporting purposes into the Physician network and are comprised of over 180 revenue generating practices combined into 22 legal entities and rolled up to 7 MO. The Senior will perform the following duties:
Prepare and/or review journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation related to legal entities.
Analyze activity and budget variances associated with physician practices.
Assist in preparation and compilation of variance notes, financials and other required deliverables.
Preparation and/or supervision/review of various IRS filings for MO's and associated joint ventures/subsidiaries (i.e. Form 990).
Support relationships with MO CFOs and Decision Support teams.
Coordination with External Financial Reporting and Technical & Specialized Accounting teams, as needed.
Gain understanding of the big picture of all aspects of physician practice financial performance and strategy.
Support new ERP initiatives, helping the team see the "bigger picture" as needed, and document/create any new policies/procedures associated, as well as assist with testing/training.
Maintain and encourage a "system" vision for all tasks and staff interactions.
Interact with leadership to ensure reporting goals are met.
Assist with the Internal Financial Reporting team's compliance with Internal Controls over Financial Reporting (ICFR) program.

Required Skills & Experience

Bachelor's Degree with a major in accounting, finance, or related field
At least 3-5 years of accounting and financial reporting experience
Financial statement preparation experience
Knowledge of GAAP and internal controls over financial reporting
Strong excel skills
Strong analytical skills
