Job Description

Our client is seeking an equipment controls product manager to sit in Hanover, MD or New Orleans, Louisiana. This individual will be responsible for:

Product Ownership
• Serve as the global business owner for controls-related products, including software, electrical hardware, and sensing solutions.
• Define customer value across market segments, time horizons, and use cases—especially where needs are not clearly articulated by customers.
• Represent the needs of the market through voice of customer, industry trends, competitor analysis, and product requirements.
• Drive toward standardized, scalable, “one to many” solutions with appropriate configurability and pricing.
• Collaborate with technical product owners to align business and technical decisions.
• Manage product lifecycle from launch through obsolescence.
• Monitor profitability and recommend pricing adjustments.
• Keep stakeholders informed and aligned.

Strategic Planning and Product Roadmap
• Develop and maintain a product roadmap focused on delivering customer value.
• Prioritize new offerings and improvements based on considerations like revenue potential, feasibility, strategic alignment, and opportunity cost.
• Build and present business cases to activate roadmap projects.
• Frame and facilitate business decisions on model releases and configurability, including market or region-specific product requirements.
• Collaborate with other product managers on the controls portions of their products and ensure that controls architecture works across multiple products.
• Work with Systems Engineering to optimize interactions between Intralox and third-party controls and customer software systems.

Development
• Partner with R&D and Product Engineering to assess feasibility and mature concepts for commercialization.
• Guide development of standardized, modular controls solutions.
• Improve integrator-readiness through simplified interfaces, training, and documentation.
• Influence modular architecture for machine control logic, HMIs, and software offerings to seek standardization where valuable and avoid re-engineering for each new opportunity.
• Facilitate business/commercial decisions throughout a new development project.
• Define project requirements for R&D, including functionality, cost and schedule targets.
• Apply rapid iteration principles (“test fast, fail fast, adjust fast”) in uncertain development environments.

Total compensation package ranges from $160-200,000
