A client of Insight Global is seeking an AV Field Engineer to sit fully onsite in Glen Burnie, MD with occasionally travel to client site/out of state. Travel required to various project sites for installation, testing, and training (25-30% out of state). The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in commercial AV systems and a proven track record of hands-on troubleshooting and software expertise. The AV field engineer is responsible for successfully configuring, deploying, and completing all commissioning tasks required for acceptance walkthrough, training, and signoff of the AV system. The ideal candidate will have experience with multiple AV systems, including Crestron, Extron, QSC, and Q-SYS. This role involves configuring devices, building and manipulating DSP files, and supporting customer IT departments.
Key Responsibilities:
Device Configuration: Configure and commission AV and VTC devices across multiple manufacturers.
DSP File Management: Write, manipulate, and build DSP files (experience with Byamp and QSC is a plus).
Networking: Understand and implement layer 3 networking solutions, support customer IT departments.
Project Lifecycle Management: Collaborate with design engineers, desk engineers, programmers, and rack teams to ensure successful project completion.
Field Engineering: Take equipment to job sites, perform QAQC, connect with programmers to load code and DSP files, update firmware, and ensure system functionality.
Commissioning: Commission equipment on-site, ensure all systems are operational, and provide training to customers.
Documentation: Build bug reports, fill out paperwork, and submit to programmers for review.
Technical Support: Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for installed systems.
Compensation:
$90,000 to $125,000 per year annual salary. Benefit packages for this role may include healthcare insurance offerings and paid leave as provided by applicable law.
