Job Description

The Pricing and Rates Administrator will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing both internal and client-facing projects. The core responsibility of this role is to collaborate with the Attorneys and the Accounting and Finance teams to ensure our pricing arrangements are actively managed in accordance with client guidelines and firm policies. This role will also assist in developing and management of alternative fee arrangements, and aid in other pricing initiatives.

The Pricing and Rates Administrator will spearhead the Annual Rates Review process. Furthermore, this role will be at the forefront of developing, initiating, and leading a targeted and robust process for direct client management. Additionally, the Pricing and Rates Administrator is responsible for taking a lead role in developing and implementing strategies to improve our profitability and enhance our relationships with our Partners and clients leveraging ad-hoc reporting and necessary tools.

Required Skills & Experience

Serve as the initial/primary point of contact for all pricing and rate matters with attorneys and assigned clients.
Summarize the financial impact of existing rate arrangements, develop and recommend revisions as agreements are renewed.
Support updates and revisions to existing rate arrangements, implement/apply finalized agreement and ensure that rate and other key matter data are properly assigned on an ongoing basis.
Ensure firm time and billing data aligns with client eBilling platform requirements to streamline invoice submissions and minimize invoice rejections.
Analyzing eBilling platform reject reason(s) and implement process improvement to prevent future occurrences Review and summarize client billing policies related to pricing and rates to determine the impact on ongoing matter management and the invoices process.
Review matter opening details to ensure accuracy matters set up based on terms and conditions outlined in the client engagement letter.
Responsible for helping attorney escalations and working with the attorneys directly to resolve billing issues and proactively mitigate potential problems relating to rates and pricing.
Work with leadership to create an effective Annual Rate Review process.
Work with leadership to create a process for rate increases outside of the ARR process; ensure rates being proposed make sense for the matter to reduce individual attorney requests.
Collaborate with Client Engagement/NBI to ensure matters are opened/closed timely. Plan and track timelines, milestones, and dependencies.

Requirements:

At least 5 years related experience
Knowledge of legal matter management software, Aderant is a plus.

Qualifying Experience: Five plus years experience as a billing/pricing analyst, or equivalent position in a law firm environment.
