Job Description

Insight Global is hiring Architectural Designers/Drafters who have an interest in residential/home designs to join a major homebuilder operating across the county. You will be working within an Architectural Project Team across all aspect of the produce development process and will have the opportunity to develop your professional skillset across a wide range of focuses. This includes creating 3D building information models (BIM) with multiple systems, making design drawings, structural analysis, floor and roof framing layouts, wall bracing analysis, truss design, building code compliance, mechanical and HVAC constructs and more. You will also be able to partner with homebuilding personnel to help resolve permit and inspection issues.

Responsibilities include:

- Develop detailed residential construction documents and 3D building models to complete project requirements and meet project schedules. Complete project work independently in at least two of the following Architectural Team Disciplines:

o Design -- Floor plans, elevations, etc.

o Architecture -- Layouts such floor framing, roof trusses, foundations, etc.

o Fabrication -- Wall panel design

o Code & Engineering -- Building codes and structural compliance

o HVAC -- Mechanical, electrical, and plumbing designs

o Estimating -- Material and quantity support

- Maintain assigned portion of the project schedule and record accurate hours worked on each project.

- Coordinate with other team members regarding project components to ensure overall project completion and low idle time. Leveraging ability, experience, and knowledge to help others meet the quality and technical standards established.

- Apply architectural concepts and designs to ensure assigned functions on each project are accurate without major changes required to correct structure, design, or established procedures and guidelines.

- Research and compile information, consulting with project team members and subject matter experts as required, to support overall project completion.

- Review own work for basic technical and quality compliance. Developing ability, experience, and knowledge to meet the full quality and technical standards.

Salary levels for these positions range from $55,000 to $100,000 depending on experience and licenses.

Required Skills & Experience

- Bachelor's degree in an architecture, engineering, or construction related field.

- 1+ years' experience in the architecture, engineering, or construction industries.

- Experience using AutoCAD preferred.

- Ability to read and interpret construction documents.

- Experience with design development and creation of construction documentation.

- Experience in residential homebuilding or production homebuilding preferred.

- High level of attention to detail as well as strong organizational, planning and time management skills.

- Well-developed problem solving and analytical skills

- Ability to work in a collaborative team environment, with strong communication skills.

- Comfort with working onsite in Frederick, MD
