Job Description
Insight Global is looking to hire a Linux Admin/Test Engineer in the Hanover, MD, area. This individual will provide tier 2/tier 3 support for the end customer’s operational systems. On a day-to-day basis, this involves testing, troubleshooting, and analyzing issues that arise within their Linux, Windows, and virtual environments. Examples include, but are not limited to, executing PowerShell scripts, making DNS entries, assigning IP addresses, configuring Cisco routing tables and devices, and restarting VMware ESXi hosts.
Compensation:
$60.00/hr to $66.51/hr.
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

Required Skills & Experience
- Active TS/SCI clearance with willingness/ability to obtain a CI Polygraph
- Active Security+ (or equivalent DoD 8570 IAM II / IAT II certification) or relevant cyber training (e.g., JCAC, JCAP)
- 3+ years of hands-on Linux experience, including command-line operations, troubleshooting, and scripting (Bash/Python); comfortable executing and troubleshooting core system commands (services, processes, networking)
- Working knowledge of networking fundamentals, including IP addressing, VLANs, and connectivity troubleshooting
- Experience with Cisco network devices, including the ability to navigate the CLI, review configurations, and perform basic administrative tasks (interfaces, routing tables, ACLs, VLANs — no design required)
- VMware experience supporting virtual environments, including common admin/troubleshooting tasks (e.g., cloning VMs, managing NICs, restarting ESXi/VCSA services)
- Experience supporting Windows environments, including Active Directory tasks (user management, domain joins, DNS basics, remote access, PowerShell execution)
- Familiarity with containerized environments (e.g., Docker CLI), including navigating systems and reviewing configuration files
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
- Expertise in integrating new and old technologies into existing network configurations and test beds
- Active CompTIA Linux+ Certification
