An employer is looking for a Traveling Network Technician. This candidate will have to be comfortable traveling to various military bases and sites to complete their day-to-day responsibilities. This candidate, alongside a team, will be responsible for surveying, installing, documenting, and troubleshooting network equipment. This is accomplished through projects such as new installations, life cycle replacement projects, and Cable Plant and wireless installations that are compliant with commercial, TEMPEST, and NIST standards. The team will build and install equipment racks, install, dress, label, and terminate Cat6 and Fiber cable in telecommunications rooms, and test and troubleshoot network infrastructure issues on SIPR and NIPR networks. Before and after installation, this candidate should be able to analyze, test, troubleshoot, and evaluate existing network systems like servers, routers, and switches. This person should be able to create accurate reports and documentation to design/certify network infrastructure, track, manage, and ensure project tasks are completed in a timely manner. In addition, they will develop Bills of Material (BOM) for network plant design requirements, plan and perform preventive maintenance and scheduled upgrades (life-cycle replacements), investigate physical faults in the network, and report network infrastructure deployment status to key stakeholders.
Compensation: $38/hr to $42/hr. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
