Position Summary
The Project Manager will oversee multiple commercial mechanical and HVAC projects while serving as a key liaison between customers, technicians, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders. This individual will be responsible for planning, coordination, scheduling, project execution, and ensuring customer satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
Candidates do not need data center experience. The ideal candidate will have experience managing commercial mechanical projects involving HVAC equipment such as air handling units (AHUs), split cooling units (SCUs), rooftop units (RTUs), chillers, chilled water systems, boilers, steam boilers, hot water boilers, CRAC units, or other large-scale commercial HVAC systems.
This position typically manages two larger active projects at a time while overseeing multiple smaller projects remotely.
Travel & Work Environment
Candidates must be located in Virginia, Maryland, or Washington, DC.
Hybrid schedule with approximately 3 days per week visiting active job sites and 2 days per week working remotely.
Employees located near Lorton, VA may utilize the office as needed, but office attendance is not required.
Regular travel throughout the DMV region is required.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
Vehicle allowance or company gas card provided.
Relocation assistance available, typically $4,000-$5,000+, with flexibility for highly qualified candidates.
Responsibilities
Manage multiple ongoing commercial mechanical and HVAC projects simultaneously.
Oversee projects from planning through execution and closeout.
Coordinate with customers, technicians, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams.
Lead project planning meetings and communicate project updates to stakeholders.
Coordinate technician schedules and project staffing requirements.
Work closely with field leaders to ensure projects remain on schedule and within scope.
Order materials and monitor delivery schedules to support project timelines.
Coordinate subcontractor activities and maintain project quality standards.
Partner with accounting and operations teams regarding project costs, invoicing, and customer communications.
Conduct site visits to monitor project progress and address operational challenges.
Maintain strong customer relationships and ensure high levels of client satisfaction.

Required Skills & Experience
5+ years of project management, project coordination, service management, or mechanical construction experience.
Experience working on commercial HVAC or mechanical projects involving at least one of the following:
AHUs (Air Handling Units)
RTUs (Rooftop Units)
SCUs (Split Cooling Units)
Chillers
Chilled Water Systems
Boilers
Steam Boilers
Hot Water Boilers
CRAC Units (Computer Room Air Conditioning)
Experience coordinating field technicians, subcontractors, vendors, and customers.
Strong communication and customer-facing skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Experience with project scheduling, planning, and material procurement.
Valid driver's license and ability to travel throughout Virginia, Maryland, and Washington, DC.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Commercial mechanical construction experience.
Service Coordinator, Service Manager, Assistant Project Manager, Project Engineer, or Project Manager background.
Experience coordinating inspections and working with General Contractors.
Exposure to budgeting, invoicing, project financial tracking, or P&L responsibility.
Previous experience supporting capital improvement or retrofit projects.
