Job Description

Insight Global is seeking to hire a Senior Audio-Visual Engineer sitting in the Washington, DC Metro area, supporting a federal client with AV infrastructure across headquarters and regional offices. This advanced technical role focuses on the design, installation, commissioning, and quality control of complex AV systems, adhering to both company and industry standards. The engineer will lead site surveys, design AV systems using CAD drawings and schematics, and distribute documentation to project managers and technicians for execution. Responsibilities include staging and testing equipment, performing system commissioning, and providing client training and technical support. Candidates should have at least six years of experience in AV system integration, with hands-on expertise in technologies like Crestron, AMX, Extron, Cisco, and Poly. The role also includes consulting on AV solutions, supporting remote testing, and contributing to design guides and product documentation. Flexibility to travel and work nights or weekends may be required to meet project demands.

Required Skills & Experience

- 6+ years of AV experience with system integration and commissioning
o UCC installation, hands-on with Poly & Cisco endpoint systems, network setup and configuration, system commissioning, system designing, autoCAD & drafting, etc.
o Experience with estimating and project management/coordinating projects
o Ability to stage, test, calibrate, and commission equipment and devices to produce fully functional systems.
 This includes display systems, DSPs, screens, cameras, switchers, scalers, processors, transmitters, receivers, interfaces, amplifiers, control pads, and other active and passive devices.
o Ability to read floor plans, cable pull schedules, line diagrams, etc.
- Knowledge of signal flow, connector types and terminations, etc
- Industry certifications:
o Crestron, AMX, Extron, Biamp, QSC, Clearone, Lifesize, Polycom, Cisco, Infocomm, etc.
- AVIXA CTS-D Certification

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

- AVIXA CTS or CTS-I Certification
