Job Description
Insight Global is seeking a seasoned UAS / UAV Engineer to support a ground‑up Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) program. The ideal candidate brings hands‑on experience across the design, development, integration, and testing of unmanned aerial platforms, with a strong understanding of how air vehicles, propulsion, avionics, control systems, and ground control elements work together as a complete system.
In this role, you will be responsible for contributing to the full lifecycle development of UAS platforms, from early‑stage architecture and requirements definition through integration, verification, and operational testing. You will collaborate closely with cross‑functional engineering teams to ensure UAS solutions meet military performance, safety, airworthiness, and mission‑critical requirements.

Compensation:
$90,000 to $130,000 per year annual salary.

Required Skills & Experience
• BS in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related technical discipline
• 5+ years of experience supporting UAS/UAV development programs, including design, integration, and test
• Strong understanding of UAS system architecture, including air vehicle, propulsion, avionics, flight control systems, and ground control stations
• Experience supporting military or defense programs, preferably Army aviation or unmanned systems
• Hands‑on experience with system integration, verification, and validation (IV&V) activities
• Familiarity with airworthiness, safety, and operational compliance for unmanned systems
• Ability to work across disciplines such as aerodynamics, propulsion, controls, communications, and payload integration
• Active Secret Security Clearance
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• Experience on ground‑up or early‑phase UAS development programs
• Knowledge of MIL‑STD requirements, environmental qualification, and ruggedized system design
• Experience with flight test planning, execution, and data analysis
• Familiarity with autonomy, command and control (C2), datalinks, or communications systems
• Hybrid‑electric or alternative propulsion experience
• Experience with CAN, Ethernet, or other UAS‑relevant communication protocols
• MS in a technical discipline or related field
• Active Top Secret Security Clearance or higher
