An employer is looking for a Remote PRP Counselor/Therapist to join their team in the Maryland area. This person will be handling calls from Emergency Department providers seeking authorization for Mental Health services for patients actively in the respective Emergency Department. They will also be handling level-of-care review for non-emergency cases originating from outpatient mental health facilities throughout Maryland. This means that this person must be comfortable with communication over the phone for a handling those authorizations -- great personality is important! All candidates must have a master's degree in a relevant field, hold an active LCPC or LCSW-C in the state of Maryland and have experience with the utilization review/authorization of services from a payer perspective. Additionally, all perspective candidates must have experience supporting a Psychiatric Rehabilitation Program (PRP). The ideal candidate has most recently been in a therapist or counselor role.

Master's degree in psychology, Social Work, Counseling, Marriage or Family Counseling or Relevant field
Holds an active LCPC OR LCSW-C in the State of Maryland
2+ years of experience in mental health as a counselor, therapist or relevant mental health professional supporting a Psychiatric Rehabilitation Program (PRP)
Experience with utilization review/level-of-care review of cases
Comfortable working and communicating with providers in inpatient emergency departments
Direct practice experience in the Maryland Public Behavioral Health System
Knowledge of public resources throughout Maryland
Experience with Medicaid populations and/or those who are dually diagnosed with mental health and substance use disorders
Managed Care experience and/or experience working in an environment that required coordinating benefits and utilizing multiple groups and resources for patients
Bilingual Spanish
