Job Description
· Responsible for implementing and monitoring compliance with accounting processes, procedures, and internal controls related to project accounting.
· Responsible for recording and reconciliation of all general ledger transactions and related accounts.
· Review, prepare, and document analysis of project estimates to ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles.
· Responsible for project cost tracking, analysis, and reporting for decision support.
· Perceive current construction industry best practices and implement relevant changes.
· Coordinate and lead monthly financial and job status review meetings with clients and internal project Team.
· Understand contract terms and conditions, knowledgeable of contractual requirements, and recognize discrepancies.
· Work on special projects as requested; assist with external and internal audit preparation.
· Interface with Project Managers and management on all aspects of construction accounting.

Required Skills & Experience
· Experience with Project Management, financial controls, experience in Accounting or Finance.
· 2-3 years of experience.
· Live in the greater Baltimore, MD area.
· Ability to travel to client office in Baltimore, MD for biweekly or monthly project status meetings.
· Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with team members and upper management.
· Good presentation skills for educating internal clients on accounting principles.
· Ability to think creatively, highly-driven, and self-motivated.
· Experience working with generally accepted accounting principles and accounting software.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• Background in utilities, construction, or engineering services
• Experience in a controller or financial analyst-type role supporting projects
• Exposure to gas distribution or installation projects
• Familiarity with pipeline / pipe cost structures and estimating (strong plus)
Experience working with contractors or subcontractors
