Job Description
Insight Global is seeking a Junior Software Engineer to join a dynamic and collaborative R&D team at a leading Veterinary Diagnostics and Services company headquartered in Westbrook, Maine. This junior-level Application Developer role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge diagnostic solutions in a highly complex technical environment. You’ll be part of a cross-functional team that includes developers, QA testers, a Scrum Master, Product Owners, and two Development Managers.
This is a hybrid position, requiring 2 days per week onsite at the Westbrook lab. The ideal candidate is a quick learner, thrives in ambiguity, and is eager to grow through feedback and teamwork.
In this role, you will design, code, test, debug, and document full-stack web applications using Java, JavaScript, React, and TypeScript. You’ll work closely with analysts and project teams to translate technical configurations into functional programs, while estimating and tracking development time for budgeting and planning purposes. Your designs will ensure efficiency, reliability, and seamless integration with related systems. You’ll be expected to understand the business functions supported by the applications to inform design decisions and maintain and enhance existing systems as business needs evolve. Collaboration is key—you’ll coordinate with team members to define requirements, deliver system changes, and provide high-level customer service to end users. You’ll also document your work to support future development and maintenance, and may contribute to system architecture design. Pay Range for this role is between $40 - $46 /hr.
