Job Description
Insight Global is seeking a Project Technical Manager to join a top energy company in Houston, TX, supporting the engineering, procurement, and construction of multiple hyperscale, mission-critical data centers across the United States. This individual will serve as the primary technical lead for assigned projects, ensuring client-provided designs are executed correctly and that technical issues are resolved quickly to maintain construction progress.
The Project Technical Manager will lead and develop a team of Field Engineers, manage technical interfaces between engineering contractors, suppliers, and construction teams, and drive resolution of RFIs, design clarifications, clashes, and constructability concerns. They will provide project-level oversight of BIM coordination, support standardization initiatives, and identify technical risks that could impact schedule, cost, or execution. This role works closely with project leadership to ensure technical alignment across all project stakeholders while supporting predictable project delivery.

Required Skills & Experience
10-15 years of experience in construction engineering coordination, field engineering, or execution-focused technical roles on large-scale Data Center or mission-critical projects
Extensive hands-on experience delivering hyperscale or mission-critical Data Center projects
Experience leading and developing field engineering teams in a construction environment
Strong background executing client-provided designs rather than performing design engineering
Proven ability to resolve technical interfaces, clashes, RFIs, and field execution issues on complex projects
Experience coordinating engineering contractors, PEMB suppliers, vendors, and construction teams
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or 15+ years of relevant technical execution experience
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Experience with modular construction or standardized building systems
Experience working with PEMB structures, vendor-engineered equipment packages, or multi-contractor engineering models
Experience supporting BIM coordination and digital model reviews in a construction environment
Experience leading field engineering teams across multiple concurrent work fronts
Previous experience supporting large-scale EPC, industrial, or mission-critical facility projects
