Job Description

Day to day:
Our client is looking for a Senior Power Systems Engineer to design and support marine electrical power systems, ensuring compliance with ABS and other maritime standards.
- Develop and review electrical one-line diagrams for full vessel power distribution systems.
- Design switchboards, load centers, and shore power panels, selecting appropriate electrical components.
- Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to gather load data and integrate it into system designs.
- Use AutoCAD and SKM/EasyPower to create and analyze technical drawings and electrical studies.
Ensure designs meet regulatory requirements from ABS, USCG, DNV, and NEC.

Required Skills & Experience

Must haves:

7-10 years of experience in Marine Power Systems experience
Experience with low voltage and medium voltage solutions
Familiarity with regulatory bodies such as ABS, USCG, DNV, NEC, etc.
Knowledge of electrical component mechanical properties and analysis
Understanding of mechanical layouts, clearances, sections, erection, grounding design etc.
Experience using AutoCAD
Knowledge of SKM and/or EasyPower
Experience using AutoCAD
Knowledge of SKM and/or EasyPower
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university or college (Masters level or higher preferred)
